Jacksonville, FL: Mandarin Park Out n' Back

The St. Johns River runs parallel to much of this ride. Most of it has no bike lane, but it's an oft-ridden, bike friendly route with Mandarin Park as the turn around point. You’ll enjoy beautiful homes, river views, and lots of shade.

You'll find ample parking in the shopping center adjacent to the start. This course will get busy during rush hour, but otherwise has low traffic. At the first left turn onto San Jose, I use the signal and left turn lane for safety. On the way back, turning left off of Beaucler and onto San Jose, stay in the close (left) lane on San Jose; the two outside lanes have green arrows and DO NOT stop. This is a great ride for a cool-down, a recovery, or social ride with your pals. It's not ideal for speed work, because of the residential neighborhoods.
