With very low traffic and lots of shade, this is a perfect route for both lazy sight-seeing and fast cruises. On a hot day, the real payoff of this ride is the ice cream pit-stop in Prospect. Locals are very friendly to cyclists in this neck of the woods due to some interesting history: A few years back, the city of Columbus and the Army Corp of Engineers wanted to build a dam and flood the entire valley. The local bike club donated money and legal eagles help local farm families fight the issue - they won the case. Locals wave to bikers and welcome us on the roads as a result. Stop with the other bikers to try to spot the Bald Eagles in their nests. Did you see the old wooden barge rotting on the side of the road? - how'd that thing get there?
