This ride starts from the Anmoore post office just off I-79 (at exit 117). The route provides quick access to quiet country roads where you’re more likely to see fellow cyclists than motorists. On cold days, you’ll be thankful for the short, gradual climb at the beginning of this ride (though it does get a bit steeper near the top). With a few more scattered hill challenges along the way, this route is also well-suited for winter riding as it’s fairly sheltered from the wind. Some of the scenery highlights along the way include: horse and goat farms, a small vineyard, and a fruit and berry shop. Once you’ve made it to the end of the out-and-back route, there are a few options. If you’re in a rush, book it back to Clarksburg on Rt. 57. It’s the most direct route, but you’ll have more automotive company than the way out. Heading straight back on the same loop, consider a coffee detour on Rt. 26/Bridgeport-Bushy Fork into Bridgeport for a stop at Almost Heaven Desserts—-a great post-ride destination on a chilly morning.
