Pawtucket, RI: Cumberland Training Ride

This weekly training ride may start from a different location each week, but you can take advantage of its quiet and secluded roads if you’re looking for a scenic training ride right outside of Pawtucket and Providence.

Thanks to secluded roads this route makes for great training or scenic riding (especially in fall). Since many of the roads are close to the highways, there is actually very little car traffic to contend with (when you’re not riding on the main roads that connect the quieter ones).
This route starts at an industrial parking lot on County St. An alternative starting point would be at Slater Memorial Parking due south (off of US Hwy. 1 or Route 15.) It’s not a long ride, but if you need to stop and refuel there are plenty of stores along the way whenever the route crosses a major road.
