Starting from McClaren Lodge at the northeast corner of Golden Gate Park, this route winds through the Presidio, along the gorgeous coast before reaching Sea Cliff and heading up to the Palace of the Legion of Honor (check out the incredible views of the Golden Gate Bridge along the way). From there you'll climb a little more before descending along the Pacific Ocean. Check out the great waves, surfers and hang gliders before looping around Lake Merced and returning through Golden Gate Park. There's a fair bit of climbing in this ride but it's worth the effort. If it's foggy out, it will be cold along the ocean: considering wearing layers.
