John Scott Road is only about 1.5 miles long, but it has some very steep sections, which is why the entire 46-mile ride is named after it. In general, the roads near the Yadkin River are steep, which makes for good climbs and fun downhills.
This route is a great way to get out of the city quick and enjoy the fall colors. Something else to enjoy is a trip to Flint Hills Vineyards. The vineyards are not too far into this ride, but we recommend stopping for food and wine tasting after the ride, not during.
