Offering some of the best year-round rides within an hour's reach of Portland, the Syncline's trail network provides cyclists with a diverse mix of terrain—not to mention postcard-worthy views above the Columbia River Gorge.

Ride the trails in both directions to test your skills on challenging climbs, bomber downhills, cruisy singletrack, and technical steeps. Or tailor your route to fit your riding style. Gravity riders can shuttle up Courtney Road to connect with Crybaby Trail, a tire-width singletrack perched on the edge of the Syncline. Cross-country and all-mountain riders have the option to start with a scenic climb up Maui Trail—passing mini waterfalls and views above the Gorge—and end with a screaming, ridgeline descent of Hidden Valley.

Clockwise or counter-clockwise?

Location: 45.700755°, -121.401973°
The beauty of the Syncline is that you can ride the trail network in both directions if you want to (and are able to). This track rides counter-clockwise, up Maui to the Jeep Trail, Crybaby and then Rattlesnake Ridge before the descent down Coyote Canyon--a gradual climb followed by a challenging, somewhat technical descent. Picking up Coyote Canyon at the beginning of the ride allows for a more challenging climb and a more gradual descent.

Rattlesnake Ridge

The last stop on the shuttle. From here it's all downhill singletrack.

Wizard Trail

Location: 45.716248°, -121.410513°
