Heading southeast from Cloverdale, this mostly flat route rolls through federally designated American Viticultural Area in the scenic Alexander Valley—intoxicating terrain even if you don’t stop for a tasting at one of the region’s 40 wineries. Stop for a quick lunch at Sonoma’s most famous country market, the Jimtown Store, or indulge yourself 3 miles down the road at the Fieldstone Winery. At mile 40, take a detour to one of California’s most eruptive national wonders, the Old Faithful Geyser. Nearby Calistoga offers hotel accommodations, but Bothe Napa Valley State Park (only 4.5 miles away) boasts 50 campsites in Ritchey Canyon. This 7-day ride tours Northern California's wine country. Call ahead to reserve lodging at each day's final destination: Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, Day 4, Day 5, Day 6, Day 7
