Departing from Suisun, the day’s ride meanders through local bike trails in Fairfield before climbing Jameson Canyon (Highway 12), a road with significant traffic but also a wide shoulder. Country roads resume en route to Napa: stop there to pick up some gourmet grub for a picnic lunch and then savor your stash 3.9 miles west of town at Madonna Estates, an organic winery with benches, shade, and all the wine country scenery you can swallow. The final leg of the day resumes with some moderate rolling hills before finish in historic downtown Sonoma, where great restaurants, wine tasting rooms, and hotel accommodations await.
