Stage 15 is the first of four consecutive stages in the Alps (broken up by a rest day) in which anyone who wants to win the Tour cannot have a bad day. The Tour will rage into the Swiss Alps over 6 classified climbs on this stage, including the Category 2 Col de Mosses and the Category 1 uphill finish to the ski town of Verbier. There will be plenty of time for the favorites to regroup and rest up for the final climb of the day, and with a rest day coming tomorrow, it’s a good bet that the contenders will go toe-to-toe. No one needs to attack on this climb, but if anyone does, everyone has to respond. It’s here that the look of the podium in Paris will begin to take shape.
