A TT built for an overall contender: With only one Cat 3 Climb hiccup, this medium distance course would seem to be well-suited to TT specialists. A closer look at the course reveals a few rolling hills along the lakeside that may break up the rhythm of pure power producers like Fabian Cancellara (who might not even make it this far into the Tour).
Betting Line: With Ventoux looming, some GC contenders will keep an eye on rival time checks and try to conserve themselves for the most decisive day of the Tour; others like Cadel Evans may see a final opportunity to gain or make up time before the race’s climax. The course would be well-suited to Levi Leipheimer, if he weren’t under orders to reel in his effort to support Contador or Armstrong on Ventoux.
