BICYCLING magazine Stage to Watch
The only individual TT in this year's race, the penultimate stage is long enough to shake up the GC. With two small climbs--Eybens and some of the lower slopes of the ascent to Chamrousse--this may not be a day for the TT specialists, such as Cancellara or Dave Zabriskie. And, coming late in the race, it favors GC riders who are strong against the clock, like Tony Martin or Cadel Evans. This may turn into a fight for lesser placings, but if time gaps on the overall classification are tight, expect a full-on throwdown.

JEAN-FRANÇOIS PESCHEUX’S ANALYSIS
: A strong man rather than a specialist
