Michigan Fruit Belt (Long Version)

This ride travels through the orchards and vineyards of southern Michigan and skirts several lakes as well. In September and October the smells of Concord grapes and ripe apples fill the air. The route has plenty of easy rollers but no major hills.

The clockwise route starts from the Bella Vita Coffe Shop in Granger, IN. For a shorter version you can start at the village of Pokagon MI (intersection of Barron Lake Rd and Pokagon Hwy); just turn west when you come back to Pokagon Hwy.

Orchard Country This area of southwest Michigan has long been a fruit-growing region, with apples being the most common. Most vineyards are closer to the lake, but a few dot this area as well. You can also find cherries, peaches, and such.
