This moderate 5.5-mile loop on the eastern boundary of the Smokies combines stellar woodland hiking with superb waterfall exploration. TO TRAILHEAD: From Asheville, NC, take I-40 west to US 19 (exit 27). Head E to exit 67 (Bryson City). In Bryson City, follow signs to Deep Creek Campground. Turn L into parking area.
