Start at the Bend Public Library and ride south on Broadway Street for a cruising warm-up that tours Bend's Old Mill District while crisscrossing the Deschutes River. At mile 2, the mild climb up Brookswood Boulevard kicks in. The road flattens for a stretch at mile 4 before the final climb to the turnaround point at Baker Road. From here, it’s a fast-paced downhill that traces the same route back to Bend. Brookswood is a wide-shouldered, lightly-trafficked road equally suited to a hard interval effort or a relaxing spin—either way, this route is perfect for squeezing a quick ride into a busy day.
