TO TRAILHEAD: From I-40, take Blue Ridge Pkwy. N toward Mt. Mitchell SP. Park @ milepost 359.8 (Balsam Gap). For shuttle: Go E on Blue Ridge Pkwy. to NC 128 and drive N .6 mi. to park shuttle on R side of road near MST sign.
