Morristown City Cemetery Micro by THE CACHE COUPLE
Location: 36.221020°, -83.288380°
The above coordinates is for the parking area where you will begin your hunt. This is a multi that ends with a micro. Bring along a calculator and pen/pencil.
The following is an excerpt from “FROM BRIDGE TO BRIDGE – THE CIVIL WAR IN EAST TN” pamphlet:
The Hamblen County Court chartered this cemetery in 1873, with five acres set aside for “pauper plots”. In 1884 a group of prominent citizens incorporated the Morristown Cemetery Company “for the purpose of a public cemetery or burying ground for the use of the people of said town and vicinity”. Nine graves of soliders from the Civil War can also be found. Among the better known of the Confederate dead are Captain J.C. Hodges of the 19th Tennessee Infantry (who later became a state senator). Throughout the War the high ground of the Cemetery and nearby hills were used as picket posts, campgrounds, and gun emplacements by both Confederate and Federal armies. The Cemetery was restored in the mid-1990’s.

You are looking for a 35mm film canister in a quiet place. BYOP.

The cache location will be very difficult to get a good signal lock on your GPSr. Please do not disturb the area as you will not have to because the canister is visible to the naked eye. No need to venture into the wooded area, the cache is not located there.
Any logs that give hints (decrypted or not) will be deleted. Pictures are ok of the container as long as it is taken away from the cache location. You will see what I mean after you find the cache.

NEW PROVIDENCE CEMETERY DATING FROM THE EARLY 1800'S
REVOLUTIONARY ---- Capt George Maxwell was born in August Co. Va in 1751. He srved his country notably. He participated in the Battle of Kings Mountain and later as Colonel the Sullivan County Malitia. He died Nov 23, 1822 and is buried in New Providence Cemetery. The Academy nearby is named in his honor.
Since his death his grave is said to be guarded by a black dog. No one knows if the dog was his pet in life, but it (or its spirit) supposedly guards the grave today. When seen the dog is said to disappear. Its also said that as you approach Maxwell grave at night, a flock of birds will erupt and fly away. It's also said that

Years ago, there were several Bigfoot sightings in the area of this cache. No one got excited about it however, since he lived in a trailer a few miles up the road. Bigfoot is no longer with us these days and this cache is placed in his memory.
This cache is located on Rt. 627 along the Clinch River going toward Hancock Co. TN - "Home of the Melungeons". The cache is near a public canoe launch. There is plenty of good parking at the cache site.
This is a microcache and it's easy to miss the container even when it's in plain view. You'll need to look closely to find it.
Original contents include:
Five silver dollars
Mini logbook/pencil/stashnote
Please note - the intersection of Rt. 627 and US Rt. 23 has no median or turn lane. Please be very careful, especially if the traffic is heavy. If you need to make a left turn, you may want to consider passing the intersection, turning at a safer location, and coming back.

Bonus cache for "Caching on the Mountain"
This is the first in a series of Caches I am going to put out as "Bonus" Caches. By this I mean that these little micro caches will be put fairly close to other caches as a "Bonus" for finding those. I decided to try this because there are several caches that are placed a long ways from other caches and some people don't want to drive the distance or have the time to spend to get that one cache. This way they will get a second cache out of the deal and maybe a little incentive to find the full size cache near by. I am only going to place these micro's near other caches I liked for what ever reason. Normally near a full size cache, not another micro. That way if you have small kids with you or some one that is just starting out, this will give them something to practice on and get their feet wet that isn't that hard to do. This first one is a Bonus Cache for "Caching on the Mountain" that I found today. I liked the area it was placed at, very nice view. Hope you all

Oh boy, here we go again![}:)] You are looking for a micro out in the wide open. As with the other ones in this series take a long look at the difficulty rating of this cache. If you are looking for a "quickie" then this cache may not be for you. This is a challenge that will test your ability to find a cache with nothing more than your eyes. Your GPSr will get you to the spot but it will be useless from there. The coordinates were shot with a 9' accuracy which is very difficult to get in this area.
Before you ask why I decided to put out a micro here, this place is extremely crowded in the warmer months and it would not last anytime. Because of this, you may have to use stealth searching for this one and at times you will have the place to yourself.
The cache is very different from any others in the area as most of the cruel series

Parking is within 10 feet of the cache.
You are looking for a container that is out in the open. It can be seen from the road. Figuring out what the container is will be the hardest part. There is alot of trash in the area so please take some out with you, if you have the time. Stealth will not be needed here (unless someone drives by). If you find yourself more than 10 feet from the road or the parking spot, you're in the wrong area. Coordinates were taken to within a 13 ft accuracy, so the GPS will only get you close. Be safe and have fun.

Best known for the words, "Be sure you're right and then go ahead," Davy Crockett was respected for his honesty and sincerity. It was those values that have made him a hero to many people today.
(Walt Disney made a television series about Davy Crockett, starring Fess Parker, that was on television when I was a kid. My brother and I became instant Davy Crockett fans. What does an ammunition plant, a little league ball field, river, and sewer plant have in common? In Church Hill Tennessee they have a fairly new park named A.S. I coached Little league there years ago and it is nice to see the place cleaned up. Use stealth in retrieving as this park gets used alot.Do not cross the fence marked around the ammunition plant! This cache is an Altoids tin with a log only, so BYOP. The coordinates are the average of 1000 readings taken with a 6 foot accuracy. There may be lots of people very near by so use your best stealth when needed.
The reason I called this cache "GeoNinjitsu" is because this area use to be where I took martial arts over 20 years ago. There use to be a dojo here that I would spend countless hours practicing martial arts and perfecting various weapon skills. Yes, I admit it, I had a full blown Ninja set up with everything from grappling hook, throwing stars, nunchaku, tonfa, sai, sword, flash powder, tabi boots, hand/feet claws and every other ninja tool you can think of. Boy those were the days! But now, it's a gas station.....Oh well....

This cache is located at the Phipps Bend industrial park in Surgoinsville, TN. It is a magnetic key holder camoflouged for its 'surroundings'. Bring your own pencil as the cache is large enough only for a small log book.
The Phipps Bend Industrial District is a joint venture between the City of Kingsport and Hawkins County. TVA began an ambitious nuclear plant construction program in the mid-1960s and at the height of the program in the 1970s, 17 nuclear plants were either under construction or operating. According to TVA, an international oil embargo drove up fuel costs in the late 1970s, causing the average cost of electricity to increase fivefold into the early 1980s. TVA canceled several proposed nuclear plants in the 1970s, including Phipps Bend. Following the announcement of Phipps Bend's cancellation, local residents filed into the site in pickup trucks and hauled away all useful construction materials at TVA's invitation. Left behind was a modern ruin of sorts. The base of the proposed cooling t

Rick is a special nephew of mine. I used to call him Ricky Pickle much to his embarassment. And as his "Aunt" I can still get away with it. Although he towers over me, when he gets out of line, I just remind him who changed his diapers once upon a time.
So, here's where the pickle comes in. I was there too late in the afternoon to go to the top. So several days later, Ricky moved this cache up. Way up. Stick to the trails until they end. Once you get nearby, it should be easy. The cache is near some rocks, but pretty much in the open.

This cache is located near the lake access road so you can park very close.
Getting a good lock with your gps may be a problem, so get a good heading before you head into the trees. You will be looking for a small altoids container hidden very well around the fallen tree in the area. Good hunting.

Speed Trap by FawverFamily
Location: 36.210270°, -83.262130°
This small cache has room for a few small trade items. The original contents are 2AA batteries, a wheres george dollar, a travel bug and the log. I think I forgot to put in a pen so be sure and bring one with you. The coordinates are the average of 1200 readings taken with a 7 foot average. The cache gets it's name from the fact that I have seen the local "Five Oh" sitting here nabbing speeders a few times.

This microcache is located in an attractive container that has a lot of magnetism. It's a MICRO cache so there's not room for anything much except the log book. Please remember to bring your own pen or pencil.
Update 2/20/05: Put out a new container in little different spot, but same coordinates. 4in square 1/2in thick magnetic container. Some beads and a log in it.
While you're in the area, check out "Bigfoot's Treasure by Cache-bert GCGHAN" a little further down the river.

The Back Parking Lot by FawverFamily
Location: 36.204970°, -83.327930°
The above coordinates DO NOT take you directly to the cache. The above coordinates will lead you to the edge of a parking lot where there is a small gap in the concrete to let water drain away (you will see it when you get there). Stand on this gap. From here, you will have to walk about 55 feet at a bearing of roughly 200º. This will take you to the area on the building where the cache is placed. This cache is an Altoids container painted to match the area. There is only a log inside a plastic bag, so BYOP. You will NOT have to leave the pavement, move or open ANYTHING to find the cache.

The Falls in Kiner Hollow by vhasler
Location: 36.484920°, -82.673250°
Quart white PE bottle hidden along a new trail in Kiner Hollow above a waterfall between Laurel Run and Bays Mtn Parks
City of Kingsport, Bays Mountain Park Association, and Laurel Run Park (Church Hill) have develop a roughly 2 mile connecting trail between the two parks. The trail is up Kiner Hollow along some existing path about half the distance, but the Tennessee Eastman Hiking & Canoeing Club along with other volunteers installed a new switchback on May 7th and finished the trail on June 4 & 5 (for National Trails Day). The upper end connects into Kiner Hollow and Indian Pipes Trail within Bays Mtn Park.
The cache is near a 6’ drop above the 20-25’ lower waterfall along the developed trail. The 3 difficulty is due to sometimes poor GPS signal under the tree growth in the hollow, but stay on the path until right near the cache. Bring a glove to reach into the rhodi root system.
The closer access is from Laurel Run Park. This park (free admission) is open April 1st through October 31st with hours

The Trestles of Copper Creek by Kptcacheman
Location: 36.654270°, -82.747070°
This cache offers a view of the Copper Creek rail trestles in Scott County near Clinchport.
Here's a microcache a railroad fan would probably appreciate. It's located near Speer's Ferry. From the cache site there's an excellent view of the Copper Creek trestles for both the old Southern Railroad and the Clinchfield Railroad. The Clinchfield trestle is considerably the more impressive of the two and is one of the highest in the region. It was built nearly 100 years ago and is an engineering marvel. It is 185 feet high and is 1160 feet in length.
This is a MICRO cache and there's only room inside the container for a small logbook. Please bring your own writing instrument.

In Mt Carmel City Park, near the George Edison Pavillion.
Cache is 1qt size plastic jar with white screw on lid.
Nice little park. Pavilion is covered tables with large brick fireplace and grills. Picnic tables near, playground and ball field also. Entrance to the park is from Park St. I did notice a gate, but no hours are posted on it. I would guess dawn to dusk. Most parks of this type are off-limits after dark. There are houses near the park, please be courteous if your there at odd hours.
