WFL005

Location: 37.178249°, -122.270699°
Dayhikers, L at Y. Backpackers, R at Y for Sunset Camp (reservations required). Trail from the top of the previous peek to here is completely different from the rest of the terrain. This is a Chapparal area with sandstone lined trails and manzanita everywhere. Lots of lizards. Dry here, bright, open, different.

WFL006

Location: 37.178280°, -122.271896°
L at Y on Berry Creek Falls Trail. Descend along Berry Creek and explore four waterfalls, each one grander than the next. The first water fall is Golden followed by Cascade and then Silver. Some areas are a steep descent. The area is almost prehistoric with lush vegetation filled with Redwoods and ferns. Dark and damp with a really thick canopy. From this point back to the park there are at least 15 fallen redwoods across the trail, but still with enough room to walk under.

WFL007

Location: 37.169682°, -122.264397°
Berry Creek Falls. By far the most beautiful of the falls. The water cascades about 40 ft down the rocky cliff. Best viewing is during the spring, but it flows all year round. A viewing platform was built and it can get crowded there during the peak season. I was there on a Sunday morning in October and there were just a couple of others there.

WFL008

Location: 37.168648°, -122.264198°
L at Y on to Skyline to the Sea Trail towards the park headquarters. The trail crosses and follows Waddell Creek and continues moderately uphill. Continued thick canopy and lush vegetation. Damp, quiet, green.

WFL009

Location: 37.172218°, -122.250900°
R at Y. Left is Timms Creek Trail.

WFL010

Location: 37.173424°, -122.244400°
R at Y. Alternate trail follows the creek and returns to Skyline to the Sea Trail in a third of a mile. Trail starts to climb steeper and will soon lose the creek. The canopy opens up a bit and more Tan Oak, Douglas Fir and Madrone and less Redwoods can be seen.

WFL011

Location: 37.175289°, -122.232300°
R at Y. Left connects to the Sunset Trail. Trail widens here.

WFL012

Location: 37.171219°, -122.230301°
Cross fire road and bear left. Follow trail signs back to Park Headquarters. Trail winds downhill back to park and more redwoods.

Primordial

The lighting here was really poor, hence the blurry shot, however, this is my attempt to try to capture the lush and dense feel of the forest.
