Una sortida molt bonica i molt recomenable. En el nostre cas, vàrem anar a dormir a Vernet-les-bains. D'aquí agafes una pista fins el refugi de Cortalets. Aquesta pista, segon indica, els mesos de Juliol i Agost, a partir de les 9 del matí, només és transitable pels cotxes autoritzats, és a dir, uns serveis de "taxis" que et porten (pagant) fins el refugi. És recomenable que aneu amb el vostre cotxe, això si, si és un 4x4 molt millor ja que la pista és bastant complicada.
Un cop al refigi, la sortida a peu és molt senzilleta. No hi ha cap dificultat remarcable, tret de la petita grimpada fins el cim del Canigó.
